SNOWPAINTERS

Summary

Snowpainters is a local co-op arcade racing game. Players play as different types of penguins and compete in a world of ice and snow by changing colors and using different props. The game has three tracks and one tutorial level. One of my responsibilities was implementing Track 3 Glacier. I placed art resources and fit the track design to build a glacier scene at night. At the same time, I also designed and built two UI levels: The Caracter Selection and Win Screens. Also, I conducted a QA test and fixed the collision problem in the levels.

Track 3 Glacier Show-off

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Designed and implemented Track 3 Glacier with strike team of two designers.

  • Adjusted different assets on Track 2 level.

  • Implemented assets and adjusted lights for Win Screen Level.

  • Made first pass on various particle systems.

  • Designed and implemented assets for character selection screen.

  • QA tested each level to find bugs and collision problems, then reported to JIRA and communicated with team for solutions.

Glacier Implementation

  • Worked with strike team (one other level designers) for track 3 Glacier prototype map

  • Based on the given theme I designed the track for the first pass

  • Implemented art assets and collision boxes for the level

Make First Pass of Different Particle Systems

  • Worked on different particle systems such as boots, pickups, and sprays.

  • Adjusted the deails and emitter’s effects to fit artists’ requirements.

Adjust Conveyance Asserts base on Level Principle

  • Worked on track 2 for art asset conveyancing based on design principles.

  • Made sure all assets position and direction is right.
